The colour pink makes me feel happy, feminine and calm, so I created a monochromatic pink makeup look to capture this. I purposefully edited the pictures in this post to make myself look dreamy, innocent and very girly – like a Disney fairy but without a wand and wings. But don’t be fooled, I’m not that sweet or that innocent! Pink is such a flattering colour that not only works for all skin tones, but also works for any event, be it daytime, evening, casual or formal. So if you haven’t considered wearing a pink makeup look give this look a try, and if the colour pink hasn’t worked for you in the past consider experimenting with different shades until you find the right combination.
To create this look I used the new KIKO High Pigment Wet and Dry eyeshadows on my eyelids (colour 38) and on my cheeks as a blush (colour 52). These eyeshadows are super pigmented, and the colours become even more intense if you apply them with a damp brush (this was what I did on my eyelids, but for my blush I applied the eyeshadow with a dry brush). I sometimes find that light pink eyeshadows or blushes that are not very pigmented look ashy on darker skin tones, but I was pleasantly surprised by the pigmentation of these KIKO eyeshadows – they are awesome!
My lovely friend Liz came to visit me recently and brought me some nice flowers. She told me to do something creative with the flowers, and so I rose to the challenge and made a floral crown for this photoshoot. I was surprised at how easy it was to make, and when I tried on my crown I was even more surprised to discover that I had a Boho side to me that I never knew existed! Let me know if you want me to do a blog post on how to create a floral crown; they are great for weddings, parties, photoshoots or just whenever you feel like being ultra-feminine.
When I look at these pictures, I’m reminded of how lovely summer was this year and how much I miss warm weather! If only we had summer all year round in the UK…….my life would be a continuous festival full of flowers, sunshine and pink fabulousness………Yeah right, LOL!!
