I decided to do a bridal photoshoot with friend one day. A few hours before the shoot I realised that I didn’t have an interesting background, a bouqet or a bridal hair piece, so in true MSA fashion I decided to make all three (this was after a few minutes of panic of course)!! I had a box of paper hearts which I’d previously made, so I hung them from the walls and ceilings of my dining room (click here for instructions on how to make these paper hearts). I had some old sparkly earrings that I hadn’t worn in ages, so I pulled off the ear hooks and then used a glue gun to attach them to some hair clips – I was happy that they actually looked like genuine bridal jewellery, he he! Then I quickly drove to ALDI, picked up some flowers and made my own bouqet (click here for instructions). So what you see here in these pictures is the result of being creative when I felt as though I had nothing! Creativity helps you to find solutions to problems in new ways, this is why I feel it’s so important to nurture one’s creativity and to continually build new skills – you never know when they’ll come in handy.
After doing my friend’s makeup I began to take pictures and it was so nice to see the fruit of my labour. A few years ago I never would have thought that I would learn how to do makeup, photography or even sewing. But I just kept on looking for courses in things I thought I would enjoy and it has led me to this point. I’m so glad that I followed my heart because it’s led me to live an interesting and fulfilling life. I encourage you today to do the same because you can! You are talented, you are creative and you have something that no one else has. Just take one small step and keep on going. Who knows where you’ll end up?
