Yay!! Finally, here is the third look of my three part make up series on analogous colours. It took me 4 attempts to find a look that I really liked, and it also took me a bit of time to find some nice pink flowers to use as my background for the photo shoot. The pink flowers were located on a busy street so I got a lot of strange looks from people as I took numerous selfies in order to capture my makeup adequately. I just pretended to be bold and acted like I owned those pink flowers, but inside I was squirming; (sigh) you just have to suffer sometimes for your art.
Let’s take a look again at the good old colour wheel to the right. This makeup look is focused on the purple-pink section of the colour wheel. By applying glitter on top of the eyeshadows I added intensity to the colours. I also used black eyeshadow above my crease and on the outer third of my upper eyelids to add some drama. I picked up the Eye Kandy glitters last weekend at the IMATS in London, they are now my favourite items in my makeup kit so far! The Eye Kandy Liquid sugar (used to apply glitter to the eyelid) is really easy to use and long lasting – the glitter stayed on my eyelids without creasing for 13 hours! It’s likely that the glitter may have stayed in place for longer but I removed my make up because I had to go to sleep. I would wear this look for a night time event but if you are daring you could wear it during the day – I did that today since it was my day off work. There really aren’t too many rules with makeup so express yourself and have fun with it.
I’ve thoroughly enjoyed creating this series on analogous colours and I hope you’ve enjoyed viewing it. I also hope it has inspired you to use a colour wheel to guide your colour selection when creating a make up look. I’ve created another makeup look that I can’t wait to share with you, so stay tuned for more!
