• DIY HEADBAND WITH A BOW

Hey peoples! I figured it was about time for a quick DIY sewing tutorial. So I decided to learn how to make a headband with a bow on the front, and I am so grateful to 2 YouTube creators who taught me how to make them (#dinasdaughter, https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8LHNi2YGph8&t=3s and #SherylandFam, https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rMFree2Cyvo&t=207s).

I decided to make 2 types of headbands: one with elastic and one without elastic. The headband without elastic can be made with just hemming web, so it’s perfect for those times when you don’t want to sew or if you don’t have a sewing machine. So check out my tutorial. Plus, I’ve left some instructions and shopping links down below. Enjoy!xx

    INSTRUCTIONS

    Headband 1

Cut out 3 pieces of fabric in the following dimensions:

    • 7 inches x 38 inches
    • 10 inches x 15 inches
    • 3 inches x 5 inches

Cut out 2 lengths of elastic using this formula:

    • First measure the circumference of your head and then subtract 2 inches. For example, my head measures 23 inches, so I cut my 2 lengths of elastic to 21 inches.

    Headband 2

Cut out 1 piece of fabric in the following dimensions:

    • 12 inches x 61 inches ( N.B. I had to join 2 pieces of fabric together to get a piece that was 61 inches long)
